The RUSM LGBTQ+ Doctors Association is a community for the next generation of LGBTQ+ physicians that seeks to organize, defend, and serve the RUSM community as a whole. It is an all inclusive and judgment-free organization that accepts everyone for who they are regardless of sexuality, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, etc. Our goal is to provide a safe space for LGBTQ+ individuals and allies. We strive to hold events that are LGBTQ+ relevant in order to inform and educate the RUSM student body on the changing and progressive LGBTQ+ community. The organization is actively involved in reforming the medical curriculum to equip new medical health leaders with knowledge, experience, and understanding to be advocates for LGBTQ+ health equality.

The RUSM SCUBA Clube aims to educate students on scuba diving and all the health benefits and concerns of scuba diving. We are working with a local family-owned business (Rogers Scuba Shack) on the island to help our members get certified, have fun, and connect with the local community. We also are working with the international diving organization called PADI to help Barbados Preserve and maintain a clean and health beach and oceanfront.

We will provide numerous opportunities throughout the semester for students to not only get certified in scuba diving but also participate in swim lessons for the locals and beach clean-ups. We also will provide opportunities to talk to doctors that are certified in the hyperbaric chamber use.

The body serving to represent students on the Barbados campus of Ross University School of Medicine (henceforth referred to as RUSM) shall be the Student Government Association (henceforth referred to as the SGA).

Membership Benefits
Students elected to the SGA are provided with personal and professional development opportunities by serving as a student leader on our campus. Elected officers learn to lead, work together, plan and implement events, advocate for their cohorts, and navigate professional organizations. Each semester all representatives participate in two retreats, weekly meetings with lunch, and an end-of-semester dinner. Representatives also represent our campus and student body at Deans meetings, admissions events, alumni visits, and other meetings with Adtalem leadership.
